Nevada Senior Guide: About Us
Megan Mathis, President/Publisher, CEO of The Masters Media Group, LLC. A 43 year resident with over 25 years experience in publishing, Megan chose to target the senior market with a resource guide for homes, healthcare, services, and leisure activities.
The Nevada Senior Guide printed its first publication in July 2001 as the Las Vegas Senior Guide. We became Nevada Senior Guide in January 2007.
The Nevada Senior Guide celebrated its 13 year anniversary in July 2014.
It is also the home of the Senior Services Directory, listing of over 400 non-profit and government agencies that offer services to seniors in Nevada. It is the only directory in the state of Nevada that is as comprehensive and is updated quarterly.
The Nevada Senior Guide has an on-line version as well, www.nvseniorguide.com
Megan and her staff are active in the senior community and involved in many organizations such as; Helping Hands of Vegas Valley, Coalition of Assisted and Residential Environments, Southern Nevada Continuity of Care Association, Aging Services Directors Organization, and her newest creation of the Senior Industry Network Group of S Nevada. Marguerite is well known and respected in the community through her dedication to providing vital information to the seniors in Nevada in order to improve the quality of their lives.
How the Senior Services Directory got started – In the spring of 2002 while in the Henderson business license office I noticed a brochure with services for seniors in Henderson – I thought they were great services and some that my mother could use as well. When I researched government and non-profit organizations that offered services for seniors I found that none of them had an advertising budget. The next question was, “How do we let the seniors know they have these services available?” I had the vehicle and the ability to distribute the information and I could update it quarterly. That was the answer.
The Senior Services Directory is the heartbeat of the publication and the driving force throughout Nevada.
