More to Life Adult Day Health Center

The mission of More to Life Adult Day Health Center is to provide a safe and friendly group care program for dependent adults during the day. The Club provides a comfortable, clean and encouraging environment with a wide variety of activities to enrich the lives of each participant. The Program is designed to maintain the participants’ highest level of independence and well-being. Perfect for adults over 18 years old, including those with traumatic brain injuries, Alzheimer’s or dementia. The program provides an economical alternative that enables families to remain together longer while extending independence and offering “more to life” for the recipient and for the caregiver.

Level of Care

Level 1: Examples of Participant’s capabilities or needs:

Eats independently. No monitoring of special diet or medications.
Participates in group activities without special modifications or frequent one-on-one intervention.
Occasional stand-by assistance to walk or transfer safely.
Uses toilet with minimal assistance.

Level 2:

Requires regular supervision and/or assistance with eating, or personal care activities.
Requires frequent one-on-one intervention to prevent escalation of anxiety or detrimental actions.
Requires assistance with ambulation, transferring or toileting.
Requires special diet, medication or Oxygen.

Fee Schedule

Open 7 to 4 Monday – Friday (no lunch)

Full Day Half Day Plus Half Day Saturday

Level 1: $ 95 $ 75 $ 65 $ 95

These per-day rates include healthy snacks and lunch, except no lunch for “Half Day”.

We are also open 7:00 to 4:00 on all holidays except Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Extended hours beyond 4:00 may be arranged or $1/minute without prior arrangement.

Other Services and Fees

Application fee $95, Shower $30, Transportation one way: $20, $2/mile over 10 miles

Admission Requirements

Prior to admission all clients must:

Visit More to Life, tour the facility and meet the friendly staff.
Have a Family Caregiver complete the application packet.
Have the client’s Doctor do an assessment to confirm that Adult Day Care is a good match, and complete the Client Medical Report.
Submit TB test results to MTL.

No minimum attendance is required, but attending at least three days a week is highly encouraged.
MTL is an approved VA PROVIDER. Veterans receive free attendance and free transportation with prior approval from the VA.
Clients remaining after closing time will be charged $1/minute, unless prior arrangements are made.
Harmful or contagious individuals will be referred to a more appropriate facility.

More to Life provides Adult Day Care in the Reno area.

We provide participants with events every hour of the day, including: social activities, games, puzzles, crafts, music, entertainment, exercise programs, art instruction, discussion groups, holiday and birthday celebrations, youth association, intergenerational programs, local outings (limo tours) and more. We also have a safe, secure yard and patio area allowing fresh air, recreation, gardening and sunshine to facilitate feelings of well-being.

TRANSPORTATION – As an additional service, transportation is available to and from the center, as needed and by appointment only. Please make arrangements in advance for this service.
LUNCH & SNACKS – Professionally prepared lunch is served each day, compliant with nutritional guidelines and special dietary needs. Healthy snacks will also be provided mid-morning and afternoon. All staff are trained with regards to special dietary requirements.
MEMORY CARE – Qualified care is provided for those with dementia, including Alzheimer’s or other memory care needs.
CAREGIVER SUPPORT – Resources for families requiring social services, financial or legal assistance, counseling, support groups and networking.
PERSONAL CARE – Our staff is trained in toileting and incontinence management, and assisting with activities of daily living.
FALL-REDUCTION EXERCISE – Every morning our participants are invited to join the exercise class, and they come! And they love it!
AFFORDABLE RATES – More to Life offers flexible full-time and part-time respite care. Participation is affordable and is a fraction of the cost of in-home care or assisted living facilities. Fees include nutritious meals, snacks, and activities.
